When you are responsible for several sled dogs, having an extra set of hands to help out is always nice! Before reaching out to us to schedule a time to come and volunteer, please consider the following:
- Our facility is a traditional working sled dog kennel (ie: completely outdoors) the desire and ability to be outside in various weather conditions is a must.
- Our modest facility does not have indoor plumbing but does have a portable toilet for those needing a restroom.
- While we do our best to accommodate mobility needs, we are not necessarily handicap accessible if you will (we are happy to speak with you in greater detail if this applies).
- Pregnant women, anyone who has undergone a recent surgery or sustained a recent injury is not permitted into the kennel.
- All potential volunteers are required to meet with our kennel manager prior to the start of their tasks to ensure it's a good opportunity for both the sled dogs and the volunteer.
- All volunteers receive a kennel tour and safety orientation prior to the start of tasks.
